Hello!
People of the Internet, today I am starting this blog for your entertainment (I hope!) and for mine too. I had a blog when I was younger, but got bored with it very quickly - however, now I'm back! It's good to be back because since then I have read a lot more books, have a stronger long-term relationship between my snazzy new computer, and a lot has happened in my life too. I am a teenager, so I will review teenage and young adult books, blogging about my life and so much more! You will also pick up on the fact that I use exclamation marks quite a bit - I swear, I do not actually sound this enthusiastic in person...
Today, I will start off with a book review! Here we go:
TITLE: The Mysterious Benedict Society (Book #1)
AUTHOR: Trenton Lee Stewart
PAGES: 473 ( small print)
RATING: * * * * / * * * * *
COMMENT: It takes a while to get going - but when it does, you are lost in a world of twists and tangles, quirky and adventurous, a magnificently- written book. I even found myself gasping out loud at certain points in the book!
GENERAL PLOT: Four children with unusual talents are recruited for a top-secret mission. There is only one rule - there are no rules. How can they work together to save the world? A cracking adventure begins...
AGE GROUP: 11-12 +
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, that's that for now. I'll be surprised if anyone is still reading - I've kind of bored myself right now. Anyway, this week I will be posting a lot, but in term time I will be posting only on weekends and some nights after school.
Ciao for now,
Lauren xx
